Bob was born and grew up in Tampa, and lives on Ardmore Farm, a thoroughbred breeding operation in Versailles, Kentucky which serves as the center of operations for Briggs & Cromartie Thoroughbred Consultants. Bob is considered one of the industry's leading experts on Thoroughbred geneology and pedigrees. He graduated from Lenoir Rhyne College with a degree in Business Management.
Bob has served as a Trustee of The Breeders' Cup. He is a former director and officer of the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association and former president of Florida Equine Publications. He co-authored “Prominent Sirelines in America,” a research project covering 300 years of breeding history. The first edition published in 1979, is renowned as one of the most comprehensive studies of Thoroughbred pedigrees ever printed.
An avid student of Scottish heraldry, Bob is a Fellow of The Society of Scottish Antiquaries, a member of the Heraldry Society of Scotland, the Society of Scottish Armigers, The Noble Order of Celts, and Clan Urquhart.
Among his hobbies is breeding, and raising showing Scottish Deerhounds.

, Vice-president:
Alan was born in Arlington Heights, Illinois and grew up going to the races at Arlington Park. He was graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Advertising and Marketing. He served as vice-president of the former Silverleaf Farm (now Padua) and holds the same office at Briggs & Cromartie Thoroughbred Consultants and Ardmore Stud.
Alan brings to the company expert knowledge of Thoroughbred pedigree and of the Thoroughbred market and community. His extensive knowledge of breeding, pedigrees and mating analysis has led to consulting opportunities with many successful breeders worldwide. Closer to home, he has managed the syndication of stallions standing in Florida, New York, Texas and California.
An active member in the Ocala community, Alan devotes time to the The Marion Cultural Alliance and the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation. He has also worked with the University of Florida and Central Florida Community College as a member of the Equine Studies Advisory Committee, serving as a consultant to curricularists in the development of an Equine Studies major in Florida’s university system. |

, Director Of Marketing:
David has had a life-long interest in Thoroughbreds and racing. David enlisted in the U.S. Army and after two years of active military service, he attended the University of Florida where he received a B.A. in English, as well as a Master’s Degree and a Specialist Degree (M. Ed. / Ed.S.) from UF's highly regarded and nationally ranked Counselor Education program. Much of the practical experience gained from the program was based on applied Human Relational and Interpersonal Communication aspects of Psychology. Among his strengths are skills in mediation and consultation. If there is one commodity to be listed among the attributes garnered from his education and life experience, it is trustworthiness.
His credentials, experience working in the mental health field, and academic accomplishments garnered him high honors. He was awarded the University of Florida’s Alumni Fellowship for his Ph.D. studies. Responsibilities while at UF included being teacher and mentor to graduate level students. He was chosen by the esteemed faculty of the Department of Counselor Education to develop and co-teach a distance course in Professional Ethics under the guidance of some of the more renowned innovators of counselor education. While he was an educator, David coordinated programs that provided scholarships, mentorships, and mental health services to students in need.
His life-long interest in Thoroughbreds landed him with Briggs & Cromartie Thoroughbred Consultants where he is involved in the selling and buying of bloodstock; selling and buying of seasons and shares; mating analysis; and advertising and public relations, and client consultation.
David has served as an officer of Executive Committee of The Board Of Directors of The Humane Society of Marion County. |

, Office Manager
A native of Ireland, Sheila Budden brings a wealth of experience in farm and bloodstock management to Briggs & Cromartie Thoroughbred Consultants. Her experience with horses began in the show jumping field. Based in Belgium for three years, Sheila traveled extensively throughout Europe before exploring other parts of the world, highlighted by a trip to Los Angeles in 1984 with the Belgian Equestrian team for the Olympic Games. While at home in Ireland, Sheila worked for Paul Darragh and Alain Storne at Waterside Stud where she directed the sale of weanlings, yearlings, and mares in England and Ireland.
She arrived in the United States in 1994 and has since been a member of the Briggs & Cromartie team. As office manager for Briggs & Cromartie Thoroughbred Consultants, her many administrative duties include accounting and financial management; management of breeding and stallion records; registrations; stakes nominations and continuing eligibility; and day-to-day operations management of one of Florida’s premier bloodstock agencies.

, Farm Manager:
Ken has been in the horse industry since 1988. In that time span, he has worked with different horse breeds in several disciplines. He has worked primarily with Thoroughbreds since 1992 and has a strong background in managing stallions. Ken has been a part of reproductive operations at notable farms like Wycombe House and Silverleaf Farm. He served as an assistant to the stallion manager at Silverleaf Farm under the farm management of Bob Cromartie and Alan Briggs. His assignment as manager of Ardmore Stud marks his return to the team of Briggs & Cromartie. He has worked with notable stallions Candy Stripes, Golden Gear, Worldy Manner, Intidab, Silver Buck and Greenwood Lake. During the off-season, Ken has worked in sales consignments with Taylor Made and has managed his own consignments, guiding his sales prospects from sales prep to auction.
An avid student of languages, Ken has taught himself to speak, read and write Spanish. His diligent studies have versed Ken well in equine contract vernacular and veterinary terminology. His language skills even earned him the chance to shuttle to South America with Candy Stripes. Ken is now self-teaching to learn Japanese.
Outside of work, when he is not studying, Ken spends his time with family. He and his wife have 2 children and 3 dogs. He is a member of The Society of Creative Anachronism, a group that recreates medieval life and arts such as calligraphy, heraldry, and armed combat. Of particular interest to Ken is medieval weaponry and defense.
Ken's many skills make him a fine manager and invaluable team member.

, Assistant Office Manager
Sandy was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and has over 20 years of experience in customer service and account management. She has spent the last 15 years in the Industrial Power Transmission Industry servicing Three US Steel Accounts in the Pittsburgh area. After relocating to Florida she decided it was time for a change and joined the team at Briggs & Cromartie Thoroughbred Consultants where she enjoys learning about all the exciting aspects of the Thoroughbred Industry.
